I've been working on a new game, Rings. Rings is an Arcade Android game where you need to tap the circles once they're between 2 rings to score a point, if you fail, you'll lose a life.
I tried to make the visuals very minimalistic and clean, I had very positive feedback with the first screenshot I took of the game.
Developing this game, I had some difficulties to think about how I could design it's gameplay. First I thought of tapping the screen to increase the size of the circle, and once it were between the rings, release the touch to score the point.I also had the idea to add some kind of multitouch with more circles, but I thought it would be too much.
Here's a GIF where you only need to take care of one circle and grows by itself. This way it feels like relatively easy, even with radial fill, as you can see, so I decided to add 2 circles while you progress, using the same mechanics and now it feels like too difficult.I will keep trying other ways to make the difficulty more balanced, easy to learn, hard to master way, so keep tuned guys!
One thing I learned about Unity developing this game, is how to use the animator properly. It gave me some headaches to make it work, but as you can see in the second GIF, the UI elements are animated just fine.
So, what do you think about it? Would you give it a try? Suggestions? Don't be shy to post a comment and let me know! You can also send me an e-mail at zaleortgames@outlook.com
